11 months to go

So, 11 months. Not too long now - what progress have you made so far?

[Kob] Oh, decisions decisions decisions! Making and changing my mind over and over again! I am really indecisive.

[Dan] The time is flying though. I can not believe its a whole month since we started planning already. We have managed to do quite a lot in just a month though.

[Kob] Of course! We even paid the deposit for the reception already!

[Kob] I can change my mind for anything else, apart from quitting now!

[Dan] hmm. Fine. Whatever. But really the reception place is really nice. We both knew it was right quite quickly.

So what is the place like, and what do you like about it?

[Kob] It really has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I felt relaxed straight away. And it is really really old, the building.

[Dan] And the people were very good to us, and were very accomodating. They have been very helpful in answering our (stupid!) questions.

[Kob] We looked at other places as well. The interior might have been nicer, but the feeling was not right for us - and the people were not as helpful. One was really late, and did not even offer us any drinks. I was so thirsty!

[Kob] Surprisingly, this one was the first we looked at on the Internet too, and the first one we went to see in person.

[Dan] Now that we have booked the place, we can start planning our day - we now know that we can have the ceremony at any time we like until 3pm, but because we want the priest to have the wedding breakfast with us as well, we need to have the ceremony earlier.

OK, so what is next?

[Dan] Highest thing on my list is to book an appointment with the wedding registrar so we can both go and get the information about getitng a marriage license - because it will be complicated.

[Kob] Yes, complicated like me.

[Dan] True, true. Apart from that we have the florist, photographer and evening entertainment to start figuring out.

[Kob] Talking about the entertainment, we now think that the salsa or the ballroom dance that we were thinking of are the wrong idea. We do not want people to be sitting down getting bored. We are looking at some live band alternatives. We both agree that we definitely do not want a cheesy disco dj (I think we will have some cheesy music though - and I made Dan listen to some old old old Thai music too!)

[Dan] I have no idea what they are saying, but its not bad you know. I have it on my iPod now, so I will be able to learn it.

OK, speak to you next month!

[Dan] If we are still planning - at this rate everything will be booked next week!

Getting Started
So how are things going at the moment?

[Kob] Not bad...!
[Dan] Stressful, she is a nightmare. Making lots of notes while she is looking at dresses...
[Kob] I am not! I look at cakes too..
