Hi everyone,
Well after having said that we will post our invitations with the christmas card, 3months later we are now finally ready to send them off.
We also have a first reply. at least it's not only me & dan and our parents, somebody is coming!!
Happy Easter Holiday
Just a quick update!!!
We have booked the band (yes the one we have talked about). We have got the wedding insurance. So now there is really not many things left to do!!! Only dans outfit and still have to decide on flowers. And some little details but not many things that we still have to pay (which is good consider how much we have done so far).
Dan has just confessed that he sometimes looked at some wedding website for the groom too!!! So it is not only me who are obsessed with the wedding!!!!
The weather is really cold now. Wrap up everyone.
Tonight we went to Newbury to see the band. It\'s called "within the blood". From the name one would expect the band members to have the punk, hard rock look. Well, it\'s quite the opposite!!!.
They were supposed to play last week, unfortunately they had to make way for a rugby game (which England did not win!).
I can picture them at the wedding, and people getting up to dance. Even the oldest guy in the pub was dancing tonight with the character from Scream! (and Mr Hyde).
8 people in the band, and they are all very enthusiastic and look like they are really enjoying themselves.
We are thinking that we might book them - but we have to get the "bah ba ba baaaah, bah bah bah, baaaaah, bah ba bah bah.. etc.." tune out of our heads before we can discuss it (it\'s a good tune though!)
We still have a concern about the sound limit from Ye Olde Bell but we\'ll just have to trust the band if they say they can do it! (oh, and we have to organise some food for a band too. More stuff to talk to the hotel about soon!)
Kob
Who says the lord of the ring only has 3 part. We can guarantee that they have the 4th part too!!! Well we picked up the rings today. They have the engrave on the outside just like in the movie, only it can\'t get me to another world and don\'t have any light when you put it on!!!
They look really nice and the band is quite thick too (it has to if it\'s gonna be with clumsy person like me). Dan likes it too, he really wants to tell everybody we bump in to (I could not believe when he told me to show the ring to Lucy and her daughter in the middle of Debenhams).
OK now it is Dan\'s turn...
We went to have a look at Kob\'s wedding jewellery in Liberty (Regent Street). Unfortunately Kob was really sure that the shop was close to Picadilly Circus tube station - she made us walk for about 2 miles (ok, maybe half a mile - but it was really busy!) near Oxford Circus! Lucky she noticed the shop or we would have walked past too! The jewellery that she wanted wasn\'t in the shop - so we started to look around at alternative stuff. Lucky Kob didn\'t like the assistant who was showing us the £1600 earrings - who wouldn\'t even let Kob touch them just because we didn\'t look posh enough. It\'s my fault that I wore my scruffy jacket in the morning.
Anyway, we found some really nice unique jewellery from a designer in there that is really really nice. I was just glad she found some that she was happy with and they really suited her. Very much her style! She tells me it should go well with the dress - I guess I will see!!
More from us soon!!!
Kob & Dan
Ok, I found my dress at the National Wedding Show in Earls Court on the 30th of September. I wasn\'t really looking seriously for a dress, and it was coincidence that it was the first dress that I tried on that day (just browsing). And the people tried to tell me that the fitting room is full and they were about to close but the nice manager found me a space. When I tried it I knew straight away that this was the one I wanted, and my Aunt could see it too - so when I agreed to buy it, she didn\'t try to talk me out of it!! Even when the price is so, so, so, so over the budget I set for myself!
The problems!!
- I have to lose..... 2 inches from my waist. No more Ben & Jerry\'s Cookie Dough for me anymore (joking!!)
- I can\'t see the dress again until May next year!!! My Aunt took a picture on her phone and she doesn\'t know how to send it to anybody. Dan will try to talk me through getting it on my phone on the weekend when we go to pick up the cards.
Speaking of the invitation cards, Na\'Oy has brought the cards back to the U.K. from Thailand today - but only some of the church ones. Writing them all in Thai and English is going to keep us busy for quite a while - which means I can\'t browse the internet looking for shoes, hair style, makeup, jewellery, or Bejeweled 2 anymore (but I am sure I will find time somewhere!)!
More soon,
Kob
We have booked the photographer, too!
After many many hours of looking (and making my eyes hurt!) we have chosen the style for our wedding invitation cards. We have been sticking to one design for a long time, but surprisingly we changed at the last minute after speaking to the people in Thailand about the cost and the design of that card too - it wasn\'t what we thought it was either.
On the weekend, we went to see the priest who will be doing our wedding. He was so cool, and apparently a lot of couples were married this year in our church too so he must be very popular! He gave us a lot of information too, and apparently we have to go on a couples course which sounds quite fun! It sounds like \'weddaholics anonymous\' !
I went with my Aunt to see the dress that i had chosen a few weeks ago. Now facing the reality that i can\'t really dance or sit down (let alone walking!) in that dress I looked for another one. I think I have found it now - and I like it as much as the other one too but it\'s more practical (and a whole £30 less expensive too - one more of you can have a dessert!)
We will update some more when we see the photographer next wednesday.
Tasks for this week are: Talking to florists, entertainment people and working on the invitation cards.
